SIMPSON BROWN DESIGN
Jen Simpson of Simpson Brown Designs has been incredible going above and beyond the call of duty in a successful attempt to create a wonderfully updated space for our most wonderful on-site guardians, Hattie and Joe Foote.
Special thanks to Kelly Kask (6 degrees Construction LTD.) who magnificently 'stick handled' the 2 week blitz on their apartment.
Other volunteers and supporters are:
Christine Stedman of DWA Fabrics who contributed materials for a the new cushions, drapes and head board. She also donated her time and skill with creating the cushions and drapes!
Wade Brick of Custom Framing & Designs who donated a beautiful frame and framing for our map of Newfoundland.
The following contributed their skills and energy with drywalling, painting, cleaning, hanging stuff, and general all round support. We could not have done this without them!
Ryan Clark of Rydon Construction, Phil Mitchell, Joanna Law, Gerry Baert, Patrick Mitchel,
Ben(electrician), Dixie Wilson, Kathy deHaas, John Simpson, Sam, Dana, and Curt

Jen Simpson and Kelly Kask have fun painting the suite!

Corea Sotropa
When I approached Jacqueline Corea to help with the design of our first floor in the new addition, she did not hesitate to jump on board with the project! Jacqueline and I had met back in 2003 when Highbanks first bought the BowView. At that time, Jacqueline was a designer with the Kids Help Phone Designer Showcase project that was been hosted there.
We are so thrilled to have Jacqueline back on board as we move forward with our expansion. Her and her awesome team have created a truly remarkable design for Highbanks residents, staff and volunteers alike. We can't wait to get to work in the new space!

Alykhan Velji
Everyone at Highbanks knows and loves Aly because back in November, he volunteered his time with our Highbanks residents for an evening we called 'What Not To Wear'! It involved some style counselling and then a trip to Winners for some shopping. Needless to say the residents had a blast! Aly was even able to get $50.00 donated from Winners for each resident to help off-set the cost of their new clothes!
When it came time to choose a designer for our second floor addition (including a 2-bedroom apartment and resident laundry room), I went straight back to Aly. He generously agreed to help us out and now we have the pleasure of working with him again. On top of being a great guy, he does wonderful work!! The resident moving into the new suite is lucky indeed!
